Oregon Summer Classic

Central Point was the place to be for the Oregon Summer Classic show July 20-28. CRQH attended with 5 horses and took on the heat and humidity with much success and brought home a trailer full of champions.

Youth rider Lauren Anderson rode her gelding RV Radical Zip Rod through a stellar weekend for their third show together. They were class winners in the Level 1 Youth Trail, and brought home the buckle for their Circuit Champion award in the Level 1 Youth Western Riding. CRQH is so proud of this new team, and is very excited for them to head to the Youth World show!

Tami Jennings and her gelding Maximum Good Times “Curly” were 3rd overall in the circuit for the Level 1 Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation. Carolyn rode Curly to a Reserve Circuit Championship in the Level 2 Green Trail. For their first time out since the Oregon Summer Classic of 2014, we are very proud of how this pair has matured together and proof that hard work at home really pays off!

Carolyn showed the Kane family’s gelding Sudden Tee Time to the Circuit Champion award in the Level 2 Senior Trail. Arnold also showed off some very solid goes in the Western Riding as well. He is proudly offered for sale!

Carolyn showed Suzanne Benson’s mare Zippos Tabitha and good performances and nice placings in the Level 3 Senior Trail. For only a handful of months in the barn at CRQH, we are so excited for the polish that is starting to come to the show pen.

Carolyn’s own horse, Hez Pretty Extreme, Bert, showed up to the party for only his third show in the pen. Being only 3, Carolyn purchased him this year and he has turned out to have a real affinity for the trail, taking 3rd overall in the Circuit in both the Level 1 and Level 3 Green Trail! We are so excited to see where this guy will go.

Oregon Summer Classic is always one of our favorite shows to go to. We rarely miss a year! Though the weather can be hot, the classes are always nice sized, they have great exhibitor parties, and there are wonderful adventures to be had on the day off! Horses and humans alike are glad to be home though, and we are super happy with how our show went!
